It is exciting to welcome back Tom Hammick to Chalk Hill, he last showed here in 2008.
His work goes from strength to strength and it is satisfying that his work is gaining increasing recognition, both through the continuing support of collectors and the interest of curators; in 2010 a mid-career retrospective show funded by the Canadian Arts Council toured Canada and 2011 has seen further success with two large works selected for the RA Summer Exhibition and a painting selected for the Threadneedle Prize (read the Independent's art critic on Hammick's painting). October 2011 will see an exhibition of work and print residency in Beijing, whilst 2012 sees Hammick as one of three significant British artists to be featured in an exhibition at Brighton City Museum and Art Gallery.
